Teacher Appreciation Gift Idea

This is the time of year to say Thank You to the teachers in your life!

In the example below we lined up the kids when the teacher was out of the room and went down the line as they announced their favorite memory of the year. "You helped me with my reading." "I loved our field trip to the museum." The teacher LOVED it and said it was her most cherished gift.

A Gift for a Dementia Patient

A Call From Kevin

Elderly Helping Hand

I don't receive many calls from customers, although my cell phone number is on the web site. Most of my customers communicate by email, or not at all.

And, my typical customer is female, usually planning a wedding, expecting a baby, or scrapbooking the milestones of her life.

So, when I received a call from a gentleman named Kevin, I couldn't help but to be curious.

Kevin, before placing an order, wanted to know how to operate a PictureThatSound card and how to affix a photo. My explanation consumed most of the short phone call. I asked about his project, and he said he was giving it to a family member.

Several weeks passed, and my phone rang one evening. I decided to let it go to voicemail since I didn't recognize the number and it was after business hours. While laying in bed, I listened to the voicemail from Kevin explaining how he used the PictureThatSound card. His message brought me to tears.

Kevin explained that his mom has dementia and lives two hours away in care facility. Her caregivers say that his mom constantly asks, "Where's Kevin?"

Kevin created a project to comfort his mother. He recorded his voice explaining that he wasn't there with her, that he lives two hours away. He told his mother that he was thinking of her, and he would be there to visit soon. Kevin added his picture and the typed words of his message to the front of the card. He placed his project in a Zip Loc bag to protect it, since he knew the care givers would be playing it often.

Not only did Kevin create a wonderful gift for his mother, he gave me the gift of testimony that I'll never forget.

A New Audience

Because of Kevin, we at PictureThatSound now know of a wonderful application for our recordable cards.

If you know of someone that would benefit from a project like Kevin's, please send me an email. I'll send the nursing home, assisted-living center, or Hospice facility a PictureThatSound set. And, I can work with the facility to provide additional cards for patients at a significantly-discounted rate. Contact me at: jennfurr@PictureThatSound.com
